We're Here To Help

This is YOUR Association. Dealers own it. Dealers Manage it.

JUST ASK
Where else can you go to ask that quick question that could save you a half a day looking? Only OIADA has a strong, updated busines understanding from the dealer's perspective of government's rules and regulations. With OIADA you have help! This could be the most important benefit the Association gives to its members.

OREGON DEALER NEWS, formerly the SQUEAKY WHEEL
You receive Oregon's independent dealer's 32-36 page magazine monthly about the industry. The magazine includes a CE Reading program that can satisfy all your continuing education requirements. It includes information on DMV and Department of Justice rules affecting dealers, local and national governmental issues, problems with customers, Internet possibilities, what not to do when considering risky business (such as hiring private contractors) and advertising from vendors who are serious about providing you with quality products tailored to your needs.

SCHOLARSHIPS
(1) NIADA - Two 1 year full scholarships each year

(2)10 or more $5,000 scholarships each school year through your NIADA membership

(3) OIADA - A High School Senior Son AND Daughter of an OIADA member each year receives Scholarships of $1,500 each.

(4) NIADA also has a scholarship of $2,000 per year for NIADA Region IV

Check with the OIADA office for details and applications.

STATEWIDE DIRECTORY
Each year we send out a directory. This allows members to contact other members when they need help either in their own town or across the state. Available in electronic form also.

LEGAL ADVICE
Have a legal question? Call the OIADA Office and we'll refer you to our OIADA attorney for a free (and brief) consultation. Call the OIADA office for your referral code before each contact.

CONSUMER COMPLAINTS ASSISTANCE
Ever have problem with a consumer? OIADA can help. Sometimes they just need to hear it from somebody else.

POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
You can contribute to furthering the dealer industry's goals by contributing money to help selected candidates get elected or stay in office. Each year at dues renewal you will be asked for a VOLUNTARY contribution to the Political Action Committee (PAC).

NIADA Membership
$50 of your dues each year goes to make you a member of the national organization, NIADA. Some of that money goes to lobbying in Washington, D.C. on issues that affect all car dealers. Without this effort it would be much more difficult for dealers to operate their businesses.

SKIP TRACING
If your customer leaves the state with a car, get an address and OIADA can refer you to someone in another state who can set up a repo. The other dealer may even buy the car, take it to the auction or ship it to you. And you may, at some time, be asked to do the same for a member dealer from another state.
