BROWSER ISSUES AND REQUIREMENTS
The Browser Issues page describes the minimum requirements when using this web site, and attempts to identify some of the known issues regarding the use of browsers on the OIADA web site.

ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE SEEING THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION?
Most browsers use some type of "caching" that could prevent you from seeing the most current version of a page.  If caching is turned on, after visiting a page the page is stored on your computer - so the next time you go to that page the page is found on your computer and is loaded much faster.  This works great, until the page has changed.  If you think you are not viewing an up-to-date page, try clearing your cache or deleting your "Temporary Internet Files" (see your browser documentation for help and use caution when doing this), then click your refresh button or close and re-open your browser.

VIDEO MODE
Our web site target is 800 x 600, but you will find the higher the screen resolution (e.g. 1024 x 768, 1152 x 864...) the more information you will see on your browser without having to scroll as much.  However, be advised that as you increase your screen resolution, the font size will get smaller... so the text will become more difficult to read.

SMALL FONTS - TEXT HARD TO READ
If you are having problems with the size of the text on the screen, you should review the following information.

Explanations
· A common font standard that addresses multiple OS and browser platforms, is 1) Verdana (a font developed for the internet), 2) Arial, 3) Helvetica (Mac standard).  If your computer doesn't have the first font, the second font is used, and so on.  This is the standard the OIADA web site attempts to adhere to.
· We currently use a 9pt font size targeted to 800 x 600 screen resolution.  Many small font complaints have been traced to screen resolutions higher than 800x600 and/or the Mac OS (as the Mac OS interprets font sizes differently than Windows).

WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE IT EASIER TO READ?
· Adjust the font size options in your web browser program (Internet Explorer or Netscape).  Use your browser's help section for more information.

Netscape Version 4.7

Beginning with Communicator/Navigator 4.0x there is a hot key combination that lets you adjust font size while you view the page.

Press Ctrl + ] to increase the size of the font.

Press Ctrl + [ to decrease it.

However, the fonts will revert to your default fonts preference size when you restart Communicator.  You can permanently change the font size under the Preferences menu:

1.  From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
2.  Under Appearance, click Fonts. (If you do not see the Fonts selection, expand the Appearance menu by clicking the plus sign (+) to the left of it.)
3.  Select the size for both the variable width and fixed width fonts.
4.  Click OK.
· Change your screen to a lower resolution (800 x 600).

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The following list identifies the additional program(s) needed to view various materials on this web site.
· Acrobat Reader: Links followed by a PDF Document icon identify documents that cannot be opened without a program (Adobe Acrobat Reader) to be installed on your computer.  This program will allow you to view, navigate, and print multi-page documents from your computer.  Click here to view our Acrobat page, and download the program.
